1. Underwater Waterfall



This mesmerizing phenomenon of underwater waterfall is located on Le Morne Peninsula, the southwestern coast of the island, in the turquoise lagoon. This underwater waterfall is known to be an illusion created by sand and silt deposits sloping downwards and dropping into the abyss. You can take boat or helicopter rides around this location to take a better view of this captivating waterfall.



2. Grand Bassin



Grand Bassin, also known as ‘Ganga Talao’ which is considered the most holy hindu place in Mauritius, is located in a secluded mountain area in the district of Savanne, deep inside Mauritius is dedicated to Lord Shiva (The Destroyer). It is surrounded by statues of gods and Hindu temples. While strolling around this island, visiting this spiritually alive place would be a great whilst offering your prayers to god.


3. Tamarind Falls



The tamarind falls is one of the must-visit places on the island of Mauritius. The sight of these waterfalls will make you awestruck. It is one of the most adventurous waterfalls in Mauritius and is filled with indigenous vegetation and exquisite bird species. 4. Hike to Le Pouce Mountain



Le Pouce Mountain is the third highest mountain in Mauritius with its peak at 812 m. It is well known for its hiking as it is regarded as an easy hike, apart from its steep climb to the summit. This climb begins with a very shady dense forest but as you go on higher you’ll find that the track is open with very few trees and mesmerizing views.



5. Chamarel



Chamarel is a village located in the Rivière Noire District, and the eastern part of the village also lies in Savanne District. It is one of a kind occurrence that is very well known for natural formation of seven colored paths. These seven colors are green, blue, purple, violet, red, brown and yellow. These rock formations have been weathered down due to uneven climatic conditions. It is one of the best places when it comes to natural attractions in Mauritius.



6. Blue bay



Blue bay, located in the south-east of Mauritius, not very far from Mahebourg is a stunning beach. This beach is surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters with white sand and big Casuarinas trees all around. You can also enjoy a lot of thrilling activities here and adventurous sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, rafting, and much more. The beaches present around this bay are filled with a number of shacks selling local delicacies and amazing food items.
